about us

FRIENDS & FAIRE was founded in 2019 in the quaint town of Wailuku, Maui.  Originally a brick-and-mortar, it was a place where people gathered to create, learn, and share their knowledge of their craft with others.  In 2023, we decided to close our doors and shift our focus to offer mobile workshops for private parties, and team-building activities at pop-up and host locations. DIY projects can be made with friends in a few hours in the comfort of your home, workplace, or venue for an affordable price! Classes are taught by crafters, artists, enthusiasts, and teachers and are meant to cultivate a community of creativity.

Meet the F&F 'Ohana

About

Hi friends, I'm Jamie (founder + owner of F&F).

Welcome fellow makers, crafters, DIYers, and learners! If you like to "make all the things", you've come to the right place!  Creativity, entrepreneurship, and teaching run in my family from both sides and I started making gifts, clothing, jewelry, (and anything else that I pretty much saw and wanted to make myself) at a young age.  Being a middle school teacher for 10 years, and currently teaching elementary school art has allowed me to gain much experience as an instructor and create connections within our community.  I love making things, memories, and friends with everyone who signs up for a workshop, and can't wait to create something cool with you!  Check out all our keiki workshops here and adult workshops here.

The Dynamic Duo

Arsie & Bruce (mom & dad)

Where do I start with these two amazing humans?  Friends & Faire would not be possible without the love & support from my mom, Arsie, and my dad, Bruce.  I'll start with whom I credit my creativity: my artsy mama who had me helping her at many craft fairs to eventually participating in selling my own creations.  She will occasionally teach a workshop or two, doubles as F&F's tax preparer, and is the best helper for big workshops.

Now onto the retired D.O.E. principal who has his hand on every wood piece that is used for workshops: my carpenter dad, Bruce.  From sourcing the wood to cutting and sanding every piece, he occasionally will make an appearance at a workshop and help at the end with the use of power tools, cleaning up, and his favorite -"talking stories" with his newfound friends.  Family is what makes F&F and I'm blessed to have this one :)
